Ontario Apostille Services
The authentication of official documents, including birth certificates, has become more important than ever in today’s globalized world, especially in Ontario, Canada. Navigating the complex world of document certification for overseas use has entered a new era of efficiency with the introduction of the Apostille process in Ontario. As the pioneer of international certification services in Canada, we would like to provide our invaluable guidance on how our professional Apostille services in Ontario can simplify your process and guarantee that your document is easily recognized around the world. Knowing the ins and outs of the Ontario Apostille procedure is essential whether you intend to study, work, or conduct foreign business. Let’s explore how using expert Apostille services can change the legalization process for your documents in Ontario.
With Canada’s acceptance of the Hague Apostille Convention, Ontario is streamlining its processes for document authentication. This evolution introduces two noteworthy modifications:
- Direct Authentication for New Public Documents: New public documents will now be eligible for direct authentication, which eliminates the requirement for prior notarization. This includes Ontario post-secondary certificates, degrees, and transcripts issued after January 2019 as well as court-issued documents from Ontario issued since January 2002.
- Simplified Process for Hauge Signatory Countries: verified documents intended for countries covered by the Hague Convention usually don’t need additional legalization at consulates or embassies. It is nevertheless advisable to verify specific restrictions in the destination country with the appropriate consulate or embassy, or with the intended receiver.
The current authentication procedure is still in place for countries that are not members to the Hague Convention, and certificates of authentication will still be issued for these documents. This means that services for documents meant for countries that are not parties to the Hague will remain unchanged.

Canada’s Ratification of Hague Apostille Convention
Canada has never ratified the Hague Apostille Convention throughout its history. Due of this lack, Canadians have had to undergo a more time-consuming procedure known as “legalization” in order to validate their documents for use abroad. But when the Canadian government ratified the Hague Apostille Convention, everything drastically changed.
Types of Documents Apostilled by Ontario Document Services
