Apostille a Power of Attorney

Apostille a Power of Attorney - Authentication & Legalization

The Power of Attorney (POA) authentication process can be done by Global Affairs Canada Authentication Services Section (JLAC) in Ottawa. They will authenticate the power of attorney by placing the red stamp and seal on it. In fact, they will authenticate the signature of the notary public or Commissioner of Oath on the document and will not validate the content in the document.

Please note, that if the power of attorney is not in English or French, the certified translation will be required.

You may be asked by authorities in certain countries to provide the Power of Attorney Apostille stamp. These countries are members of the Hague Apostille Convention. Since Canada is not a part of the said convention, the power of attorney always gets authenticated and legalized in Canada
